A claim that is at often times made by the steppe theorist is that the Steppe related ancestry in both Armenia_MBA/IA and Hasanlu_IA, Hajji_Firuz_IA is heavily mediated by the males but lets look into the data from Lazaridis et al. 2022 to verify this claim.
the samples that actaully have proper evidence that they r most likely mediated by males from the steppes is y-dna haplogroup R-M12149 and R-M269.
also from Haplotree.info
however once we actually look into the actually number of individuals with this haplogroup from both Armenia and Iran it would actually be quite less .
The following information is based on science.abm4247_data_s1 from science.abm4247_data_s1_to_s5 from Lazaridis et al. 2022 in a study named The genetic history of the Southern Arc: A bridge between West Asia and Europe.
As we can see only 7 Individuals out of 36 Individuals in Armenia and 3 out of 11 individuals in Iran with y-dna haplogroup R1b seem to have both of these Haplogroups.
7 samples out of 36 samples seems to belong to haplogroup R-Y13369 and sub clades of it which has its earliest presence in Armenia this haplogroup probably is the result of a single individual from the steppes who migrated to Armenia some subclades of R-Y13369 might in theory even Originate in Iran.
1 sample out of 36 samples seem to belong to haplogroup R-Y82989 which is once again found nowhere other than Armenia.
5 samples out of 36 samples seem to belong to haplogroup R-Y19434 the earliest samples with this haplogroup with this seems to once again be from Armenia this is also quite far way from its origin to haplogroup R-M12149 already
based on familytreedna.com.
10 samples out of 36 samples seem to belong to haplogroup R-A12332 and its subclades?(not sure about the accuracy of
familytreedna btw) and the parent subclade of this subclade is R-Y19434.
1 sample out of 36 samples seems to belong to haplogroup R-PF331 which is once again found nowhere other than Armenia.
1 sample out of 36 samples seems to belong to haplogroup R-Y18781 which is once again found nowhere other than Armenia.
4 samples out of 36 samples seem to belong to haplogroup R-FGC14590 which is ancestral to haplogroup R-Y19434 and is once again found nowhere other and Armenia and Iran based on the earliest samples with it. the most earliest is from Hajji_Firuz_IA although in theory it might also originate from Armenia since both of these samples are not really further away based on the dates of these samples.
1 sample out of 36 samples seems to belong to haplogroup R-Z645 which might originate from the steppe?
so the actual impact of the Yamnaya people on Armenia based on these samples would be somewhere around 19.44% = (7/36) x 100.
And now coming to Iran 3 samples out of 11 samples seem to belong to haplogroup R-FGC14590.
1 sample out of 11 samples seems to belong to haplogroup R-Y19434 the earliest samples with this haplogroup seems to be from Armenia although it is in theory possible that it might also originate in Iran based on the sample dates.
1 sample out of 11 samples seems to belong to haplogroup R-Y4364 which is once again quite further away from its origin to R-M12149.
1 sample out of 11 samples seems to belong to haplogroup R-Y23838 which is once again quite further away from its origin to R-M12149.
1 sample out of 11 samples seems to belong to haplogroup R-Y88647 which is once again quite further away from its origin to R-M12149.
so the actual impact of the Yamnaya people on Iran based on these samples would be somewhere around 27% = (3/11) x 100.
